Summary, etc. | Jean Granier’s monumental work seems to be so often unacknowledged. It tackles head-on all the greatest problems in philosophy ranging from ontology to art, and from anthropology to metaphysics as well as the ultimate question of man’s destiny. His philosophy - entitled Integralism - suggest grounding philosophy in two ways: by considering the transcendental position of the being in philosophical discourse on one hand, and on the other the status of the "I" in the process of crafting the discourse, with desires and values paving the way for a radical understanding of the essence of philosophy as an "egotistic" interpretation of the world and what lies beyond, i.e. the "transreal." |
