520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. This article is based on the findings of a 2020 participatory research for which 48 interviews were conducted with current or former young caregivers, healthcare professionals, professionals in the community health and social sectors, in the education system, as well as experts in the fields of disability, education, career support, etc. It aims to analyse how the “young caregiver” situation transforms relations within the home: When does one become a caregiver for one’s sibling or parent? What forms of assistance are provided? What are the effects of such assistance and are they specific to young caregivers? How do they impact the relationship between siblings, and between children and parents? The article is divided into four parts. The first section presents the research methodology and the actors involved in this participatory study. The second section shows the diversity and porous nature of the “young caregiver” category. The third describes the effects of this support on caregivers, with a particular focus on positive effects. The fourth section describes how this category hybridises the relational modalities upon which family relationships are based.
