| Summary, etc. | RésuméLa batterie MacArthur d’histoires à compléter est une méthode structurée dont le but est d’engager l’enfant dans un jeu narratif. Le cadre procuré par l’ensemble d’histoires peut se révéler très utile dan le processus thérapeutique avec les jeunes enfants et leurs familles. Elle permet à certains enfants de révéler plus facilement les types de conflits qui les animent, et facilite l’engagement avec le thérapeute, tout en aidant les uns et les autres à diminuer leur anxiété vis-à-vis de la thérapie. Les séances peuvent être enregistrées en vidéo, et revues avec certains membres de la famille, de façon à permettre que celle-ci facilite la thérapie de l’enfant. Finalement, ce cadre permet l’établissement d’une base de données comparative propre au clinicien, utile tant à son activité diagnostique que thérapeutique. |

The structure provided by the Mac Arthur Story Stem Battery can be very useful in the therapeutic process of working with young children and families. The structure enables some children to reveal areas that they are struggling with quickly, and helps the child engage with the therapist. The structure also helps to alleviate both the child’s and the clinician’s anxiety about therapy. Sessions can be videotaped and reviewed with relevant family as a means to engage family in supporting therapy with the child. Finally, the structure facilitates the formation of a comparative internal data base for the clinician to access both for diagnostic and therapeutic process purposes. |
