| Summary, etc. | RésuméLa notion de personne est ici abordée sous l’angle des gestes et attitudes quotidiens qui s’appliquent au corps de l’enfant soninké durant la petite enfance. Leur analyse met au jour la vulnérabilité des composantes de la personne du petit enfant - souffle vital et double -, qui expose celui-ci à divers dangers. Ces derniers sont notamment liés à la fuite de son souffle vital par les orifices de son corps, à la capture de son double ou encore à l’action du « mauvais double » de sa mère. D’où la nécessité d’un engagement total des partenaires dans un maternage dit « de proximité » - gestes liés aux bâillements, aux étouffements, à la toilette et au sommeil. La lecture de ces faits du quotidien, à la lumière de certains gestes rituels effectués lors de la naissance, offre des éléments de réponse à la question du statut du petit enfant soninké. Elle montre également à quel point ces pratiques relèvent d’un même univers de représentations et de quelle manière la question du lien entre gestes quotidiens et gestes rituels peut ouvrir à une réflexion plus générale sur l’efficacité du rituel. |

| Summary, etc. | The body and the person of the infantThe notion of person is approached here from the point of view of gestures and daily attitudes that apply to the body of the soninke Child during infancy. Their analysis reveals the vulnerability of the components of the infant’s person – the vital breath and the double – that exposes the child’s life to various dangers. The latters are mainly connected to the escape of its vital breath through its body’s openings, to the capture of its double or else to the action of the « bad double » of the mother. Hence the necessity of a total commitment from the partners in a close mothering : gestures connected with yawning, choking, with the washing and the sleep of the infant. The analysis of this daily caring in the light of some ritual gestures performed at the time of birth provides elements to answer the question of the Soninke infant’s status. It shows also to what extent these practices are part of the same world of representations, and how the matter of the connection between daily and ritual gestures may open to a more global reflection on the ritual efficiency. |

| Summary, etc. | ResumenLa noción de persona es abordada aquí bajo el ángulo de los gestos y actitudes cuotidianas que se aplican el cuerpo del niño soninké durante su pequeña infancia. Su análisis hace aparecer la vulnerabilidad de los componientes de la persona del niño pequeño -aliento vital y doble- que lo expone a diversos peligros. Estos últimos están particularmente ligados a la perdida del aliento vital por los orificios del cuerpo, a la captura de su doble o incluso a la acción del « doble malo » de su madre. De ahí la necesidad de un compromiso total de los participantes a la crianza dicha « de proximidad » gestos ligados al bostezo, al ahogo, a la limpieza y al sueño. La lectura de estos hechos al cuotidiano, a la luz de ciertos gestos rituales efectuados al nacimiento, ofrece algunos elementos de respuesta a la cuestión del estatuto del niño pequeño soninké. Ella muestra igualmente hasta que punto estas prácticas relevan de un mismo universo de representaciones y de que manera la cuestión del lazo entre gestos cuotidianos y gestos rituales puede abrir una reflección mas general sobre la eficacidad del ritual. |
