À partir de l’expérience clinique transculturelle et des recherches dans ce domaine, ce travail montre l’importance de ces processus intrapsychiques, intersubjectifs et collectifs et en tire les conséquences pour la prévention et les soins pendant la grossesse et au cours de la mise en place des interactions précoces parents-enfants. Apaiser les enfants et les faire grandir harmonieusement sont donc deux fonctions à la fois singulières et universelles des parents d’où qu’ils viennent. Respecter leur manière de penser et de faire est un gage de leur efficacité symbolique et réelle. |

| Summary, etc. | Soothing children: a singular and universal parental functionThe task of soothing infants and easing children and adolescents requires a construction of parenthood that is grounded in the person’s own mental, social and cultural representations. Starting from trans-cultural clinical experience and research in this area, this work shows the importance of intra-psychic, intra-subjective and collective processes, and draws conclusions with respect to prevention and care, both during pregnancy and in the course of the establishment of the early parent-child interactions. Soothing and easing children, and enabling them to grow up harmoniously are thus two parental functions that are both singular and universal, whatever the parental background. Respecting parents’ ways of thinking and doing is the key to their efficacy, both real and symbolic. |

Una función de los padres singular y universalSosegar a los bebés, a los niños y a los adolescentes supone una construcción de la parentalidad que se apoya sobre sus propias representaciones síquicas, sociales y culturales. A partir de la experiencia clínica transcultural y de las investigaciones en este dominio, este trabajo muestra la importancia de dichos procesos intrasíquicos, intersubjetivos y colectivos y saca de ello las consecuencias para la prevensión y los tratamientos durante el embarazo y durante el establecimiento de las interacciones precoces padres- hijos. Sosegar a los niños y hacerlos crecer en plena harmonia son pues dos funciones a la vez singulares y universales de los padres de donde quiera que vengan. Respetar su manera de pensar y de actuar es una prueba de su eficacia simbólica y real. |
