The author’s reading of Paul in his time and milieu contains three theses : 1) his letters are preferable to the Acts of the Apostles for understanding his ideas ; 2) the Paul of the letters is, indeed, a Jew ; 3) the break between Judaism and Christianity happened after Paul. |
