Summary, etc. Congenital abnormalities of inferior vena cava are a group of anomalies with various clinical manifestations and imaging findings. Though rather infrequent, they may, when found, need an expert medical opinion from vascular medicine, cardiology, or vascular surgery specialists. They need to be recognized and their consequences known, to ensure optimal medical monitoring. Our objective is to provide a review of the main congenital abnormalities of the inferior vena cava, illustrated by a case report from daily experience, and the associated underlying embryological mechanisms.
