Summary, etc. | In 2014, almost seven billion people were mobile phone users, thus propelling mobile phones ahead of all other forms of ICT. From mobile Personal Health Records to confidential clinical data sent by SMS, these devices are increasingly used to provide “better” services with less financial and human resources and greater involvement on the part of health consumers. Among the types of ICT used for accessing information about health, the internet has been extensively studied, whereas the use of mobile technologies for sourcing health information, a trend referred to as “mHealth” or “mobile Health,” has not been thoroughly documented thus far. |
