| Summary, etc. | Depuis la première décennie du xxie siècle, Taïwan est régulièrement le théâtre de mouvements sociaux de grande envergure : manifestations contre l’implantation d’un complexe industriel pétrochimique dans une zone humide, contre la construction d’un complexe hôtelier sur la côte est, contre l’établissement d’une quatrième centrale nucléaire, ou encore plus récemment le mouvement dit des « tournesols » contre l’orientation économico-politique du gouvernement de la République de Chine à Taïwan. Les participants à ces mouvements appartiennent souvent aux mêmes groupes et associations, ou, du moins, partagent en commun un grand nombre de revendications et de pratiques. Dans cette contribution, nous tentons de montrer comment, par-delà l’apparence sectorielle de ces mouvements, ceux-ci se retrouvent dans une critique d’une trajectoire développementaliste, s’exerçant aussi bien à l’échelle de Taïwan qu’à celle du monde. Cette étude n’a pas tant pour ambition de proposer une analyse sociologique de ces mouvements et de leurs participants, que d’insister sur le caractère commun des valeurs revendiquées et les nouveaux lieux existentiels qu’ils contribuent à imaginer : les hétérotopies. |

| Summary, etc. | Since the first decade of this century, Taiwan has regularly been the scene of large-scale social movements: protests against the construction of a petrochemical industrial complex in a wetland, against the establishment of a luxury resort complex on the East Coast, against the construction of a fourth nuclear power plant, or more recently the movement known as the “Sunflower protest” against the economic and political orientations of the Taiwanese (Republic of China) government. Very often, participants in these movements belong to the same groups and organizations, or at least share in common a large store of claims and practices. In this paper, we would like to show how, beyond the belonging of these movements to different domains of activity (political, economic, and ecological), they can converge in their critique of the developmental agenda that guides both Taiwan and the world. This study do not aim to provide a sociological analysis of these movements and their participants, but to emphasize the common ground of their claimed values and the new existential places that they contribute to produce: heterotopias. |
