| Summary, etc. | Lorsque dans la fable « Le Loup et le Chien », La Fontaine tient la liberté pour l’apanage du loup et réduit la condition du chien aux stigmates de son collier, il oppose la liberté de l’individu dans la nature à l’esclavage nourricier de la domestication. À partir de l’exemple de la vie d’une louve et d’une chienne patou, nous interrogeons le rapport à la liberté de ces deux espèces. Car la chienne patou a accès à une liberté particulière, celle que lui offre le travail. Ou plutôt que pourrait lui offrir le travail si les conditions de la reconnaissance existaient. En effet, contrairement au chien de conduite qui est formé et reconnu au travail, les rapports de la chienne patou aux brebis sont essentialisés et occultent la question du travail. La chienne est supposée n’agir qu’en réponse à son instinct de protection potentialisé par sa proximité avec les brebis dès son jeune âge. Cette occultation du travail et le manque de reconnaissance du travail qu’elle accomplit dissolvent l’agentivité dont fait preuve la chienne au travail, mais peuvent aussi conduire à la démotiver. |

| Summary, etc. | In the fable “The Wolf and the Dog,” La Fontaine considers freedom to be the wolf’s privilege and reduces the condition of the dog to the stigmata of its collar. He then opposes the freedom of the individual in nature to the food slavery of domestication. From the example of the life of a wolf and of a female dog patou, we question the relationship to freedom of these two species. For the patou has access to a particular freedom, that offered to her by work. Or rather that the work could offer if the conditions of the recognition existed. For, unlike the shepherd dog that is trained and recognized at work, the relationships of the patou to the sheep are essentialized and hide the question of work. The patou is supposed to act only in response to her instinct of protection potentiated by her proximity to the sheep from her young age. This occultation of work and the lack of recognition of the work that she performs dissolve the agency that shows the patou at work but can also lead to demotivating her. |
