| Summary, etc. | Les réflexions d’Ernst Bloch (1885-1977) sur le changement social présentent un intérêt pour l’étude du rural. Dans deux œuvres en particulier, Thomas Münzer (1921) et Héritage de ce temps (1935), Bloch montre comment la nostalgie et la proximité avec la nature font des paysans des personnes mues par le souvenir ou le rêve d’une société idéale, qui mêle communisme primitif et nature arcadienne. Cette identité paysanne peut être mobilisée de manière utopique ou, au contraire, nourrir un désir de retour et de conservatisme. Ces théories permettent d’affiner l’analyse croisée de l’identité paysanne et des liens à la religion, à la tradition, à la nature et à la politique. Bloch trouve ainsi sa place dans une lignée de penseurs hétérodoxes de l’identité paysanne qui ont influencé la pensée écologiste. |

| Summary, etc. | The writings of Ernst Bloch (1885-1977) on social change are of a significant interest in the study of the rural world. In two of his essays, Thomas Müntzer (1921) and Bequest of This Time (1935), Bloch shows how the nostalgia and the proximity to nature particularly turn peasants into people driven by the memory of an ideal society combining primitive communism with Arcadian nature. This original peasant’s identity can be used in a utopic manner, or, on the contrary, it can nourish a conservative wish to return. Through these theories, Bloch helps sharpen the cross analysis of peasant identity and its ties to religion, tradition, nature and politics. He also naturally belongs to a tradition of heterodox thinkers of peasant identity who have influenced the ecologist thinking. |
