Summary, etc. | Cet article s’intéresse aux facteurs de réussite des bacheliers professionnels dans l’enseignement supérieur et, plus particulièrement, aux déterminants de l’obtention d’un brevet de technicien supérieur (BTS). Les résultats soulignent un désavantage relatif des femmes ainsi que des jeunes issus d’un milieu socioculturel défavorisé, accru par la différence majeure de chances de réussite observée selon les domaines de spécialités d’une part, et la voie d’enseignement d’autre part. Un accès plus équitable à l’apprentissage ainsi qu’aux formations industrielles et scientifiques apparaît comme un préalable à la réduction de ces inégalités de réussite. Enfin, les difficultés propres au type de baccalauréat détenu restent un frein majeur à l’accès effectif des bacheliers professionnels au BTS. |

Summary, etc. | This article examines the factors that determine the success of students with a vocational baccalaureate in higher education and, more specifically, the determinants of success in obtaining a ‘brevet de technicien supérieur’ (BTS). The results underline the relative disadvantage of women and of young people from disadvantaged socio-cultural backgrounds, accentuated by the major difference in chances of success observed according to the fields of specialization, on the one hand, and the educational pathway, on the other. More equitable access to apprenticeships and to industrial and scientific training is a prerequisite for reducing these inequalities in success. Finally, the difficulties specific to the type of baccalaureate held remain a major obstacle to the effective access of vocational baccalaureates to the BTS. |
