Summary, etc. | Cet article explore l’influence de la modalité orale dans la résolution d’un problème géométrique donné à des élèves de 9-11 ans. Il bénéfice d’une double perspective : sciences du langage et didactique des mathématiques, avec une forte dimension sémiotique. Le problème consiste à produire un dessin à main levée à partir d’un court texte (lu aux élèves) qui décrit une figure géométrique. Les analyses s’appuient sur un recueil des signes qui définissent les actions multimodales de l’enseignante et des élèves : paroles, gestes, postures, tracés. Les élèves construisent une grande variété de dessins erronés, l’analyse des processus de tracé révèle des cheminements complexes chez les élèves. L’étude montre l’impact de la modalité orale sur la difficulté de la tâche. Elle questionne la pertinence de la modalité orale pour la tâche étudiée, et plus généralement pour tout problème de conversion d’un texte vers un dessin. |

Summary, etc. | This article explores the influence of the oral modality in the resolution of a geometric problem given to 9-11-year-old students. It benefits from a double perspective: the language sciences and mathematics didactic, with a strong semiotic component. The problem consists of making freehand drawing from a short text (read to the students) that describes a geometric figure. The analyses are based on the many signs that define the multimodal actions of the teacher and the students: words, gestures, postures, drawings. The students draw a wide variety of incorrect drawings, the analysis of the design process reveals rich reasoning by students. The study reveals the impact of the oral modality on the difficulty of the task. It questions the relevance of the oral modality for the task under study, and more generally for any problem of conversion from geometric text to drawing. |
