| Summary, etc. | Les perspectives de recherche dominantes en entrepreneuriat basées sur une approche comparative continuent de véhiculer une image d’un entrepreneuriat féminin et ethnique moins performant. Cet article vise à remettre en question ce discours méritocratique en prônant plutôt une approche contextualisée. À partir de la situation des femmes entrepreneures immigrantes, encore peu explorée dans la littérature, l’objectif est de démontrer l’articulation du contexte social, et plus précisément l’assignation à des rôles domestiques et parentaux et les expériences migratoires, sur la motivation et l’expérience entrepreneuriale. La création d’une typologie, qui croise les dimensions de la division du travail familial et du rapport à l’entreprise, permet d’abord de présenter la diversité des situations sociales des femmes immigrantes et l’impossibilité de tenir un discours homogène sur ces catégories sociales. De plus, elle nous permet d’observer que certaines entrepreneures, bien qu’elles soient femmes et immigrantes, réussissent à correspondre au modèle dominant lorsqu’elles se retrouvent dans un contexte social particulièrement favorable, remettant en question le caractère essentialiste de la norme entrepreneuriale. |

| Summary, etc. | The dominant research perspectives in entrepreneurship, based on a comparative approach, continue to convey the image of female and ethnic entrepreneurship as less efficient. This article aims to question this meritocratic discourse by instead advocating a contextualized approach. Based on the situation of immigrant women entrepreneurs, which remains relatively unexplored in the literature, the objective is to demonstrate the impact of social context – and, more precisely, the assignment of domestic and parental roles and the migration experience – on motivation and entrepreneurial experience. The creation of a typology, bringing together the division of family work and the relationship to the business, allows us first of all to present the diversity of social situations of immigrant women and the impossibility of maintaining a homogeneous discourse on these social categories. In addition, it allows us to observe that certain entrepreneurs, despite being women and immigrants, succeed in corresponding to the dominant model when they find themselves in a particularly favorable social context, calling into question the essentialist character of the entrepreneurial norm. |
