| Summary, etc. | RésuméL’article étudie les compétitions de lutte organisées dans le cadre des fêtes publiques en Bulgarie. Malgré les transformations formelles décidées par l’État après 1944, les luttes sont toujours perçues par les organisateurs et le public comme une tradition. Elles sont instrumentalisées par les élites politiques qui tendent ainsi à se présenter comme gardiennes des « traditions », pour s’assurer prestige et fidélité parmi la population. Elles servent également à transmettre des messages politiques et à présenter de manière métaphorique les antagonismes entre politiciens. |

| Summary, etc. | This paper focuses on wrestling competitions organized within the framework of public festivities in Bulgaria. Despite formal changes imposed by the State after 1944, wrestling is still perceived as a tradition by promoters and public. It is instrumentalized by political elites who try to pose as the guardians of « traditions » in order to gain prestige and faithfullness from the population. It is also used to convey political messages and to represent metaphorically antagonisms between politicians. |

| Summary, etc. | ZusammenfassungDer Autor untersucht Ringkämpfe, die im Rahmen öffentlicher Feste in Bulgarien veranstaltet werden. Trotz formalen Umwandlungen, die nach 1944 vom Staat auferlegt wurden, sind diese Wettkämpfe von ihren Veranstaltern und ihrem Publikum immer noch als eine Tradition empfunden. Die politischen Eliten nützen sie aus, um sich als Hüterinnen der Tradition aufzugeben, sich das Ansehen und die Treue der Bevölkerung zu sichern. Ringkämpfe werden auch genutzt, um politische Botschaften zu vermitteln und Widerstreite zwischen Politikern metaphorisch darzustellen. |
