| Summary, etc. | RésuméSitué dans le Jura neuchâtelois, à la frontière franco-suisse, et tour à tour simple cavité rocheuse, abri préhistorique, moulin souterrain dès le xvie siècle, lieu d’expérimentation à l’aube de l’ère électrique, abattoir-frontière durant une bonne partie du xxe siècle, site industriel disparate dès les années soixante et aujourd’hui attraction touristique, le site du Col-des-Roches vient de se constituer en musée. L’ethnographie de ce processus, effectuée par les concepteurs de l’exposition, permet d’aborder différents types d’enjeu : politique, économique et culturel. À partir d’un désir de musée, elle permet de déceler comment, par le biais de stratégies individuelles et collectives, une région économiquement précarisée produit son histoire en fonction du présent. |

| Summary, etc. | The site of the Col-des-Roches is located in the Neuchâtel Jura at the French-Swiss frontier. It was first a rock cave, a prehistoric shelter, and was then used for many purposes : as early as the XVIth century as an underground mill, at the beginning of the electric era as an experimentation place, during a great part of the XXth century as a frontier-slaughterhouse, in the sixties as a disparate industrial site and recently as a tourist attraction. Now it has just been transformed into a museum. The ethnography of its evolution is presented in an exhibition the museography of which enables to approach the various political, economic and cultural problems at stake. Starting from the wish for a museum this ethnography shows, by means of personal and collective strategies, how an economically precarious region produces its history as a function of the present. |

| Summary, etc. | ZusammenfassungDer Col-des-Roches befindet sich im Neuenburger Jura an der französisch-schweizerischen Grenze. Er war zuerst eine Steinhöhle, dann ein vorgeschichtlicher Unterschlupf ; ab dem 16. Jahrhundert diente er als unterirdische Mühle und zu Beginn des elektrischen Zeitalters als Experimentierraum ; während des 20. Jahrhunderts war er lange Zeit ein Grenzschlachthof, ab den sechziger Jahren eine Stätte unterschiedlichster Industrien und in letzter Zeit auch eine Touristenattraktion. Nun hat sich daraus ein Museum entwickelt. Die Ausstellungsgestalter zeichnen die Ethnographie dieses Prozesses auf um so verschiedene Typen von politischem, ökonomischem und kulturellen Wettbewerb anzusprechen. Ausgehend vom Wunsch nach einem Museum kann die Ethnographie aufdecken, wie eine ökonomische Randregion mit individuellen und kollektiven Strategien ihre Geschichte den Umständen entsprechend (re-)produziert. |
