Summary, etc. Cet article traite d’une communauté d’agriculteurs vidéastes mettant en scène leur recours aux pesticides. Après avoir resitué leurs publications dans le contexte d’un projet de « communication positive » en réaction à « l’agribashing », nous décrivons comment les « agri-youtubeurs » justifient leurs usages des produits phytosanitaires, en cadrant leurs comptes rendus sur la dimension raisonnée et maîtrisée de leurs pratiques, tout en évitant d’être normatifs à l’égard de la diversité de leurs propres techniques culturales. L’analyse des fils de commentaires, espaces d’interactions régulés par les vidéastes, montre l’élargissement de cette communauté au cercle des abonnés, qui partagent la volonté de maintenir l’unité de la profession agricole face aux critiques environnementales.

Summary, etc. ‪This article studies a community of farmers who post videos on YouTube about their use of pesticides. We first situate these videos within the context of a community involved in a campaign of “positive communication” that responds to environmental concerns. We then outline how these farming YouTubers justify their use of pesticides by presenting themselves as reasonable and responsible practitioners without being prescriptive about the different farming techniques they use. Our analysis of comment threads, a space of interaction moderated by the channel owners, shows how YouTube serves to expand this community to a circle of subscribers who wish to preserve unity within their profession in the face of environmental criticism.‪
