| Summary, etc. | Issue d’une tradition sédentaire, l’apiculture chinoise contemporaine se distingue par la prédominance de la transhumance à des fins commerciales. Continuellement en déplacement à la recherche de miellées rentables, soumis aux règles de l’économie de marché, les apiculteurs exercent leur métier dans des conditions précaires imposant adaptabilité, rapidité et performance, parfois à l’encontre des rythmes et des équilibres naturels. Basé sur une enquête de terrain effectuée en 2017, cet article montre comment les discours, les pratiques et les efforts de coordination des temporalités des apiculteurs sont révélateurs de la façon dont les valeurs et les déséquilibres sous-jacents de la mondialisation imprègnent un métier en affectant les liens des apiculteurs avec les abeilles et l’environnement. |

| Summary, etc. | Contemporary Chinese beekeeping stems from a sedentary tradition, but is now characterized by the predominance of transhumance for commercial purposes. Beekeepers are continually on the move in search of profitable resources, pursuing their activities in precarious conditions requiring adaptability, speed, and performance, sometimes placing them at odds with natural rhythms. Based on ethnographic material (2017), this article shows how beekeepers’ discourse, practice, and attempts to coordinate various timeframes reveal globalization’s underlying values and imbalances, which, by altering by altering how beekeepers relate to bees and the environment, permeate their profession. |
