| Summary, etc. | Depuis la fin des années 1990, le Transport À la Demande (TAD) connaît une forte croissance au sein du territoire français. Ce mode de transport, à mi-chemin entre le bus et le taxi, a séduit de nombreuses Autorité Organisatrices de Transport (AOT) par sa grande souplesse de fonctionnement et son adaptabilité. Il s’est diffusé dans toute la France, porté par des AOT de plusieurs natures. Ces dernières se sont approprié ce mode de transport afin de l’intégrer dans leur réseau de transport existant ou pour constituer de nouveaux réseaux. Cet article propose de revenir sur l’évolution de ce mode de transport au cours des quatre dernières décennies à travers une analyse des acteurs et des logiques qui concourent à la mise en place de ces services. In fine, l’article s’interroge sur la façon dont le TAD contribue à la constitution d’un réseau plus global de transport public et sur son devenir. |

| Summary, etc. | Since the end of the 1990s, Demand Responsive Transport (DRT) has greatly increased in France. This transportation mode, halfway between bus systems and taxis, is used by different French transport authorities for its flexibility and its adaptability. It is either integrated into existing transportation networks or constitutes new networks. This paper analyses the growth of this transportation mode over the last four decades through the actors and the logics which contribute to the implementation of these services. The paper questions the way DRT contributes to the constitution of a more global public transportation network and its future development. |
