| Summary, etc. | RésuméLa consommation d’énergie s’est considérablement développée depuis la Seconde Guerre mondiale. L’accroissement de la population, l’amélioration du niveau de vie, devraient augmenter encore les besoins. Mais les prévisions traditionnelles montrent que cette consommation d’énergie nécessitera toujours un recours important aux énergies fossiles. Or les ressources sont limitées et leur utilisation aggrave l’effet de serre et le changement climatique. Il faudra donc développer massivement les énergies renouvelables, intensifier les programmes d’économie d’énergie et poursuivre la recherche sur un certain nombre d’axes clés. |

Traditional forecasts show that this energy consumption will continue to depend heavily on fossil energy. However, resources are limited and their use have a negative impact on the greenhouse effect and climate change. There is therefore a need to develop large quantities of renewable energy sources, to intensify energy saving programs and to pursue research in certain key areas. |
