| Summary, etc. | La chute, incident corporel fréquemment redouté par les personnes âgées, questionne invariablement la rencontre entre réalité externe et réalité interne en chacun, et les destins possibles des rapports entre le somatique et le psychique au cours du vieillissement. À partir d’une rencontre clinique réalisée dans le cadre d’une recherche doctorale, nous nous proposons d’illustrer quelques aspects du « travail du vieillir » déjà à l’œuvre, quand la chute survient, dans l’élaboration des épreuves que donne à vivre le processus de vieillissement. Chez certaines personnes, et ce « à leur corps défendant » pourrait-on dire, ce travail donne lieu à un certain nombre de réaménagements psychiques capables de se saisir des fragilisations du corps, dont la chute procède. Notre propos vise à dégager des éléments de réflexion qui soulignent combien, parmi les conflits psychiques rencontrés chez le sujet âgé à cette occasion, la problématique œdipienne peut continuer à demeurer chez certains d’une grande actualité et participer aux états de souffrance psychique régulièrement constatés, ce qui nous permet d’avancer que ces derniers ne peuvent être rapportés aux seuls poids des causalités biologique et sociale. Sous couvert de la vulnérabilité somatopsychique qui occupe le devant de la scène, un certain nombre d’angoisses liées à cette conflictualité œdipienne sont en effet susceptibles de se dévoiler, venant notamment signer la difficulté à négocier sereinement les problématiques de castration et de passivité réactualisées par le processus du vieillissement. |

| Summary, etc. | A fall, a bodily injury frequently feared by the elderly, invariably challenges the encounter between the external and the internal reality within each individual, and the possible fates of the relations between the psyche and the body as one ages. Based on a clinical encounter as part of a doctoral research, we seek to show some aspects of the working process of ageing already underway when the fall occurs. In some individuals, this work leads to psychic reshuffles that can address what we can call the « reluctant body » in falls. Our aim is to provide some food for thought in support of the idea that, among the psychic conflicts of elderly subjects at this moment, the œdipal problematic can remain actively involved and can engender more or less intense psychic suffering. We will thus shed more light on the ways in which this physical failure has been addressed from a psychic perspective, and not only from biological and social ones. Under the guise of highlighted somatopsychic vulnerability, some anxieties directly linked to this œdipal conflict are indeed likely to be revealed. These mark the difficulty in smoothly negotiating the castration and passivity reactualized in ageing. |
