Summary, etc. | Au-delà de l’opposition par l’âge, le sexe et la génération, le groupe des conseillers financiers de La Poste présente une dichotomie de statuts d’emploi qui constitue un des principaux éléments pour expliquer les tensions intergénérationnelles. Les uns étant fonctionnaires, avant tout postiers, et les autres contractuels, recrutés pour leurs compétences bancaires, les dynamiques d’insertion dans le métier et de socialisation à l’entreprise ne sont pas les mêmes. Mais les profils et statuts d’emploi ne sont pas suffisants pour expliquer les différents rapports qui s’instaurent entre les générations. Les pratiques associées au statut de « fonctionnaire » demeurent. Ce maintien s’explique notamment par les effets des différentes socialisations des nouvelles générations de conseillers financiers. La profession en tant que communauté socialisatrice favorise alors la coopération et le dépassement des effets de générations dans lesquels les individus ne se reconnaissent pas forcément. |

Summary, etc. | The status of employment divides the professional group of the financial advisers of the French Postal Services. This segmentation is more important than divisions along the lines of gender, age, generation. A part of the group is attached through a civil servant status to their institution while others are contract workers. The former belong to the public sector while the others have been hired because of their banking skills. Thus, hiring processes and dynamics are different for these subgroups. But employment status is not sufficient to explain the way generations relate to each other within the group. Even if they do not benefit from a stable contract, the younger generation adopts the ethos of the statesmen. Various processes of socialization help explain this disjunction. The professional group acts as a community of socialization and helps to enhance cooperation and overcome age segmentation. |
