| Summary, etc. | RésuméEn analysant le statut linguistique des référentiels de compétence, cet article montre que tous les mots y sont interprétables et qu’ils ne permettent donc pas de réaliser une évaluation fiable. La linguistique pragmatique montre qu’il existe deux possibilités pour qu’un destinataire interprète correctement un énoncé. Soit le locuteur précise le contexte dans lequel cet énoncé doit se comprendre, soit le locuteur respecte les maximes conversationnelles de Grice (1973). En constatant que les référentiels de compétences ne correspondent à aucune de ces deux situations, cet article démontre que les énoncés d’un référentiel de compétence ne permettent pas une évaluation satisfaisante des compétences car ils sont toujours et tous interprétables. Cet article propose des pistes d’action managériales pour tenir compte de ce phénomène et tenter d’en limiter les effets négatifs. |

| Summary, etc. | By analyzing the linguistic status of competences frameworks, this article shows that all the words are there interpretable and that they do not thus allow to realize a satisfactory evaluation. The pragmatic linguistics shows that there are two possibilities so that somebody interprets correctly a sentence. Either the speaker specifies the context in which this sentence has to be understood, or the speaker respects the conversational maxims of Grice (1973). By noticing that the competences frameworks correspond to none of these two situations, this article demonstrates that the sentences of a compe-tence framework do not allow a satisfactory evaluation of the competences because they are always and all interpretable. This article proposes managerial plan of actions to take into account this phenomenon and try to limit its negative effects. |
