Summary, etc. Plusieurs mathématiciens ont décrit leurs expériences subjectives accompagnant leurs découvertes. Tous font référence à de soudaine intuition source d’émerveillement ou d’un profond sentiment esthétique. Plusieurs insistent sur la part de pensée inconsciente impliquée dans le processus de la découverte. Leurs descriptions évoquent trois modèles métapsychologiques : la régression avec ses aspects topique, temporel et formel – la réparation au sens kleinien – la symétrisation telle que définie par I. Matte-Blanco. L’auteur tente de rendre compte du processus de la découverte mathématique à l’aide de ces modèles métapsychologiques.

All of them refer to a sudden intuition which a wonder or a profound aesthetic feeling stem from. Several of them stress the role of an unconscious thinking entailed in the process of the discovery. Their descriptions call up three meta-psychological models: regression – reparation in its kleinian meaning with its three aspects, structural, temporal and formal – symetrisation as described by I. Matte-Blanco. The author tries to give an account of the process of mathematical discovery with the help of these meta-psychological models.
