| Summary, etc. | Cet article s’intéresse aux combattants démobilisés ayant connu une « mobilité sociale descendante » en Côte d’Ivoire. Il se focalise sur une association de démobilisés, la « Cellule 39 » (C39), et analyse la place qu’elle occupe et la stratégie de « lutte purement administrative » qu’elle utilise dans la société ivoirienne depuis 2012. L’étude montre que l’identité collective qui s’est forgée autour du passé commun de rebelles et de l’appartenance à la C39 n’a pas pu faire disparaître les dissensions internes au groupe. L’article illustre enfin les limites de la lutte administrative dans un pays où le recours à la violence semble encore dicter les actions politiques et les modes de gouvernement des gens. Il questionne ainsi plus généralement les fragilités de la transition sécuritaire dans une Côte d’Ivoire « post-conflit » encore profondément marquée par l’instabilité. |

| Summary, etc. | This article examines demobilized combatants who have experienced “downward social mobility” in Côte d’Ivoire. It focuses on a specific association of demobilized combatants – “Cellule 39” (C39) – and analyses the space it occupies and the strategy of “purely administrative struggle” it has employed in Ivoirian society since 2012. The research shows that the collective identity that was forged around the rebels’ shared past and their belonging to C39 was not enough to dispel internal disagreement within the group. The article illustrates the limits of a purely administrative approach in a country where the use of violence still seems to dictate political action and the means of governing. It as such more broadly questions the fragile nature of the transition to peace in a “post-conflict” Côte d’Ivoire marked by instability. |
