| Summary, etc. | Concept difficile à penser, l’indépendance se présente notamment comme étant constitutive de l’idée d’État-nation et de la volonté d’auto-gouvernance qui lui est associée. En Afrique, l’indépendance politique a été formellement acquise par la plupart des États à la suite des colonisations et décolonisations, mais la nature même de celle-ci, avec ses liens avec les anciennes puissances coloniales et les difficultés internes à la construction des États nouvellement indépendants, dans un contexte mondial en constante évolution, imposent de revoir l’entendement de ce concept et de dégager quelques pistes qui invitent à le repenser en lien avec celui d’interdépendance. |

| Summary, etc. | Independence is a difficult concept to think about, one that is constitutive of the idea of the nation-state and the related desire for self-governance. In Africa, political independence was formally won by most states following colonization and decolonization. However, the very nature of independence, with its links to the former colonial powers, and the internal difficulties involved in building newly independent states in a constantly changing global context, make it necessary to review the understanding of this concept and to identify a number of avenues to reconsider it in relation to the concept of interdependence. |
