| Summary, etc. | Dans un contexte où les territoires sont davantage appelés à être acteurs de leur développement et relever des défis de plus en plus complexes, économiques, sociaux et environnementaux, la capacité à coopérer, en particulier celle des habitants, est considérée comme essentielle. Les espaces insulaires sont souvent perçus comme des lieux de solidarité, où le collectif jouerait a priori un rôle important. Pour autant, certains particularismes liés à l’insularité pourraient à l’inverse contribuer à des antagonismes, sur des territoires accueillant des populations d’origines diverses. Notre propos vise à questionner les spécificités du vivre-ensemble insulaire et ses modalités. La discussion est menée à partir d’une étude de cas sur les associations – outil juridique de prédilection de l’action collective – dans les îles du Ponant. Les valeurs de liberté, convivialité et solidarité se traduisent davantage par de la collaboration, notamment informelle, que par une véritable coopération territoriale. Ces dernières années émergent cependant de nouvelles dynamiques qui pourraient conduire à des évolutions en termes de gouvernance locale. |

| Summary, etc. | In a context where territories must be more and more involved in their own development and have to face complex environmental, economic and social challenges, the ability to cooperate, especially of the inhabitants, is seen as essential. Island areas are often perceived as places of solidarity, where the collective would take a significant place. However, some particularities related to insularity could, on the other hand, contribute to antagonisms in territories hosting populations of various origins. The Authors’study aims to investigate the specificities and the modalities of this insular type of « living-together ». The discussion is based on a case study of associations – the preferred legal tool for collective action – in the Ponant islands. The values of freedom, conviviality and solidarity are expressed more through collaboration, especially informal collaboration, than through real territorial cooperation. However, new dynamics are emerging in recent years and could lead to changes in local governance. |
