520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc.
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. The official approach to national parks in Sweden is currently experiencing a remarkable regulatory moment. Regional development, participatory strategies in planning, and a certain commodification of nature are the most conspicuous features of this shift in policy. While these may be considered as novel developments in their own right, feeding an emergent regime of conservation by accumulation, they bear witness to a longer trajectory of ideological and material ambivalence towards nature in the course of capitalist development. It is an ambivalence, more specifically, that shows traces of past planning efforts and boundary struggles between human and nonhuman nature, accumulation, and conservation. In different ways this brings out central environmental justice concerns of participation, recognition, and distribution, thus beckoning a deep historical geography of environmental justice.
