Moral stereotypes, closed-mindedness and gossip etch a detrimental portrait that is often far-removed from reality. A review of the history of masonic allegiance in Côte d’Ivoire and of its unique relationship with the colonial and then national State and with the Church open the way to a more nuanced understanding of the situation of the different, competing lodges today. |
