| Summary, etc. | En 2011, 291 pièces de 20 F or, dites « napoléons », ont été découvertes dans un immeuble ancien du centre-ville de Caen. Ce dépôt, datable de 1854, présente la particularité d’être constitué d’un unique type de pièces de monnaie, dont la plupart quasiment neuves et dans un état de conservation exceptionnel. L’ensemble, au fort pouvoir libératoire, est sans doute à mettre en relation avec la « phase de l’or » des années 1853-1857 ; il serait ainsi le premier qui nous soit parvenu pour cette période. |

| Summary, etc. | In 2011, 291 gold Napoleon coins were discovered in an old Caen building. This discovery was remarkable in that all the coins were almost new and perfectly preserved. This collection, the first that is known, probably originated in the “golden period” (1853-1857) that encouraged accumulation of gold pieces. |
