| Summary, etc. | Quelle est la nature des relations entre les sociétés populaires et les représentants du peuple en mission dans le cadre du gouvernement révolutionnaire ? Si l’historiographie a reconnu la marge d’initiative que conservent les clubs politiques pendant l’an II, leur supposée soumission à l’autorité des missionnaires de la République, qu’ils sont chargés d’assister dans la surveillance des autorités constituées, mérite d’être interrogée. L’article se propose d’analyser ce qui se joue dans les interactions entre les deux institutions à partir du cas du département de la Mayenne. L’étude de l’accueil du représentant en mission par les sociétés populaires, puis des opérations conjointes de réorganisation des administrations locales et enfin du répertoire d’action collective que peut mobiliser le club face au député doit permettre d’envisager leurs rapports autrement que sous le seul angle de la domination politique. |

| Summary, etc. | What was the nature of the relationship between the Jacobin clubs and the representatives on mission within the framework of the Revolutionary government? If the historiography has acknowledged the initiative Jacobin clubs retained during the Year II, their alleged submission to the authority of the « Missionaries of the Republic » that they assisted in the surveillance of the constituted authorities deserves to be more fully examined. The article will analyze what was at issue in the interactions between the two institutions, using the case study of the department of Mayenne. The study of the reception of the representative on mission by the Jacobin clubs, their joint operations in the reorganization of the local administrations, and the repertory of collective actions the Jacobin clubs could use against a representative on mission should highlight their relations differently than the sole perspective of political domination. |
