Il montre d’abord que derrière leur critique d’une recherche naïve du consensus, censée être au cœur de la pensée libérale, se cache la revendication d’un décisionnisme politique inspiré par Carl Schmitt. Il montre ensuite comment ce décisionnisme est reformulé à l’aide de la notion d’indécidabilité, empruntée à Derrida. Enfin, l’article souligne que l’indécidabilité présupposée des concepts et des pratiques sociales aboutit à une vision balkanisée de la société et rend impossible l’idée même d’un jugement politique. |

Philosophy of Leftist PopulismThis article examines the political philosophy of Ernesto Laclau and Chantal Mouffe and their argumentation in favor of a left-wing populism. First, it demonstrates that behind their criticism of a naive quest for consensus, supposedly at the core of liberal thought, stands a claim of a political decisionism inspired by Carl Schmitt. It then shows how this decisionism has been reformulated with the help of the notion of undecidability, drawing on Derrida. Finally, the article emphasizes that the presumed undecidability of social concepts and practices leads to a balkanized vision of society and makes the very idea of political judgment impossible. |
