| Summary, etc. | À partir de la description de la pièce de théâtre Twa fèy, twa rasin, on peut se questionner, dans une perspective anthropologique, sur ce que les acteurs définissent comme les souffrances héritées de l’esclavage et les formes de dépassement que la pièce semble proposer. Celle-ci permet également de s’interroger sur les processus de reconstruction mémorielle à l’œuvre dans la création théâtrale à la Martinique, dans laquelle les registres de la littérature et du langage corporel se croisent. Ainsi, au-delà des intentions et du propos de la pièce, l’étude des sources, et du processus de création des personnages et des situations dans lesquelles ils évoluent, permet de comprendre comment, dans ce domaine, les mémoires historique et collective (ici plus particulièrement gestuelle) s’accordent et aboutissent à des réinventions, ou parfois se contrarient. |

Theatre and society in Martinique as expressed in Twa fèy, twa rasin The description of the play Twa fèy, twa rasin provides material for an anthropological examination of what the actors define as suffering inherited from slavery and the ways of surpassing it that the play appears to offer. It also gives an opportunity to investigate the processes of memory reconstruction at work in dramatic art in Martinique, in which the registers of literature and body language combine. Beyond the play’s intentions and statements therefore, study of sources and the creation of characters and the situations in which they develop brings clues as to how historical and collective memories (here more particularly in gestural terms) meet and result in reinventions in this domain, or sometimes contradict each other. |
