| Summary, etc. | Les pratiques agricoles au sud du Burkina Faso et dans la province du Ziro en particulier connaissent des changements importants, marqués par une recomposition de la paysannerie en catégories socioéconomiques inégales et par l’essor de l’entrepreneuriat agricole, œuvre à la fois d’exploitations familiales locales et de citadins qui investissent de plus en plus dans l’agriculture. Les différentes catégories d’agricultures, particulièrement sa forme entrepreneuriale, redéfinissent le travail agricole, sa nature et sa finalité ce qui pose, de manière nouvelle et complexe, le problème des jeunes ruraux aux emplois agricoles. Nous analyserons le paradoxe de la situation où ceux qui disent disposer de l’emploi, les entrepreneurs agricoles, font face aux réticences de ceux (les jeunes) qui, pourtant, disent chercher à travailler. Dans un environnement où un grand nombre de jeunes est inoccupé, ce paradoxe met en exergue l’importance de la dimension qualitative dans les rapports entre l’offre et la demande en matière d’emplois agricoles dans les localités du Ziro. |

| Summary, etc. | Employment for rural youth: agricultural entrepreneurship and job creation in Southern Burkina FasoAgricultural practices in Southern Burkina Faso, and Ziro province in particular, have undergone significant changes. These changes entail a reorganization of the peasantry into unequal socioeconomic categories and the development of agricultural entrepreneurship as a result of both local family farms and city dwellers investing increasingly in agriculture. The different types of agriculture, particularly entrepreneurial agriculture, redefine employment in the sector, its nature and purpose. This raises new and complex issues about the place of rural youth in agricultural employment. We propose here to analyse the paradoxical situation where those who have employment, i.e. agricultural entrepreneurs face reluctance from those (the youth) who claim they are looking for employment. In a situation where many youths are idle, this paradox is due to the qualitative dimension of the relationship between the supply and demand for agricultural employment in the villages of Ziro. |
