| Summary, etc. | L’objectif de cet article est de montrer pourquoi et comment des lieux de mémoires douloureuses aussi divers que les musées de la Shoah édifiés dans les principales capitales occidentales après la fin de la Seconde Guerre mondiale, la prison réhabilitée de Tuol Sleng à Phnom Penh, tristement célèbre lieu de tortures et de crimes commis par les Khmers rouges de Pol Pot entre 1975 et 1978, ou encore les tunnels de Cu Chi au sud du Vietnam, récemment mis en tourisme, représentent des objets spatiaux à part entière, requalifiés en tant que lieux patrimoniaux par la fréquentation de touristes nationaux et internationaux. |

| Summary, etc. | Patrimonialisation of painful memories: anchors and mobility, roots and rhizomesThe purpose of this article is to show why and how places of painful memories represent space objects in their own right. Those places include sites as diverse as the Holocaust museums built in major Western capitals after the end of the Second World War, the rehabilitated Tuol Sleng prison in Phnom Penh, an infamous place of torture and crimes committed by Pol Pot’s Khmer Rouge between 1975 and 1978, or the Cu Chi tunnels in Southern Vietnam, recently open to tourism. These sites are reclassified as heritage because of the national and international tourists visiting them. |
