| Summary, etc. | Cet article propose une étude du profil des représentants des pouvoirs publics et de la société civile dans un comité de bassin hydrographique de l’État de São Paulo (Brésil), à savoir le comité Tietê-Jacaré. Cette recherche veut montrer que les hiérarchies sociales en jeu au sein du Comité ne dépendent pas uniquement des intérêts économiques des secteurs qui y sont représentés. Elles dépendent aussi de dimensions symboliques amenant à une différenciation en termes de langage et d’information. À cet effet, la présente étude a pris en compte les profils de formation scolaire et technique des membres du Comité depuis sa fondation. Elle s’intéressera également à la participation effective de ces membres AUX principales discussions promues dans les différentes assemblées de cet organisme. Nous verrons qu’au sein de la routine du Comité, le capital culturel manifesté au travers de la connaissance scientifique et technique constitue un important vecteur de pouvoir. Il influe aussi de façon décisive sur l’imposition de principes légitimes de vision et de division du monde social et des ressources naturelles dans le contexte de ce bassin hydrographique. |

| Summary, etc. | Scientizing politics in Brazil water managementThis article presents a study of the profiles of the representatives of public authorities and civil society participating in a river basin management committee in the State of São Paulo (Brazil) – the Tietê-Jacaré Committee. The research aims at demonstrating that the social hierarchies involved within the Committee are not exclusively based on the economic interests of the sectors that are represented. They also depend on symbolic dimensions that lead to a differentiation in terms of language and information. In order to achieve this, the study takes into account the education and technical training profile of the members of the Committee since its inception. It also focuses on the effective participation of these members in the main discussions held in the various meetings of this body. Within the routine of the Committee, the cultural capital expressed through scientific and technical knowledge is an important vector of power. It also has a decisive influence on the imposition of legitimate principles of vision and division of the social world and of natural resources in the context of this river basin. |
