| Summary, etc. | Les oasis se situent en milieux arides ou semi-arides, et la vie végétale et animale ne peut s’y développer que grâce à l’eau et à l’action de l’homme. La gestion de l’eau y mobilise des savoirs, des techniques et des pratiques qui assurent le fonctionnement du système d’irrigation et constituent un élément majeur du patrimoine culturel oasien. La préservation durable de ce patrimoine ne peut s’envisager que si les organisations sociales sont capables de s’adapter via leurs pratiques d’irrigation aux changements environnementaux, conjoncturels ou structurels que connaît l’oasis.Dans cet article sont présentés les savoirs, techniques et pratiques traditionnels liés au système d’irrigation ainsi que les informations de gestion de l’eau nécessaires à son fonctionnement. La maîtrise de ces informations représente un enjeu de pouvoir. Nous verrons comment leur bonne connaissance et leur partage peuvent soutenir le maintien durable de ces savoirs, techniques et pratiques d’irrigation. |

| Summary, etc. | Adaptive capacity of traditional water management and sharing practices in the Figuig oasis (Morocco)Oases are situated in arid or semi-arid areas, and plant and animal life cannot grow without water and without human intervention. Water management draws upon know-how, techniques and practices, which ensure the proper working of the irrigation system and are a key element in the cultural heritage of the oasis. Sustainable preservation of this heritage is only possible if communities are capable of adapting their irrigation practices to the environmental, temporal or structural changes affecting the oasis. This article presents the traditional know-how, techniques and practices linked to irrigation system, as well as management data necessary for such a system to function properly. The control of water management information is a power issue. We shall see how the proper knowledge and the sharing of it may ensure the sustainable preservation of know-how, techniques and practices. |
