| Summary, etc. | L’étang de Montady, desséché au Moyen âge, a tardivement été remodelé par l’irrigation. Cette expérience historique perdure plus de sept siècles après sa fondation, en se fondant sur des savoirs spécifiques et des institutions communautaires basées sur des initiatives locales et privées, mais de plus en plus articulées avec les politiques publiques de l’État français. Parallèlement, les trames radioconcentriques étudiées dans le Saïss au Maroc peuvent être rapprochées du dispositif radioconcentrique de Montady, même si les savoirs techniques et les institutions créées sont au départ l’émanation d’un modèle étatique de réforme agraire. Il n’y a aucune preuve d’un quelconque mimétisme entre les deux exemples, mais des éléments leur sont communs : la défense de leur singularité dans l’environnement immédiat et le besoin de maintenir une certaine cohésion autour du phénomène radioconcentrique. |

Thoughts on two unprecedented models of radial concentric land development in France and MoroccoMontady pond, which had dried out during the middle age, was later remodelled by irrigation. This historical experience continues after more than seven centuries, according to specific knowledge and community institutions that were based on local private initiatives increasingly articulated with the public policies of the French government. Meanwhile, the radial concentric frames studied in Saïs, Morocco, can be compared with the radial concentric device of Montady. However, the technical knowledge and institutions in Morocco are the product of a specific state model of the agrarian reform. There is no evidence of any mimicry between the two examples, but they have common elements : the defence of their distinctive feature in their immediate environment and the need to maintain some cohesion around the radial concentric phenomenon. |
