| Summary, etc. | Après la défaite de la Seconde Guerre mondiale, la laïcité japonaise se met en place avec la Constitution pacifiste d’après-guerre. Cet article interroge sa mutation contemporaine. Il montre qu’elle connaît une transformation corrélative avec le changement radical du pacifisme auquel est identifié le Japon de l’après-guerre. Deux étapes se sont succédé. Dans une première période qui s’étend des années 1950 à 1980, le Japon se trouve dans un régime « pacifico-séparatiste » : les missions militaires à l’étranger et l’exercice de l’auto-défense collective des forces d’autodéfense sont interdits ; le religieux, surtout le shintoïsme, est limité à la sphère privée. Une seconde période, à partir des années 1990, établit un nouveau régime « néopacifico-partenarial ». D’un côté, le pacifisme est transformé : la paix sera désormais maintenue par un engagement militaire plus soutenu, non par la seule renonciation à la guerre. De l’autre, la laïcité japonaise connaît une mutation de la même façon qu’en France : le politique n’hésite pas désormais à coopérer avec le religieux, surtout avec le shintoïsme. Cette double mutation de la laïcité et du pacifisme s’explique par l’érosion collective de la mémoire de la guerre. |

| Summary, etc. | After the defeat in the World War II, Japan established its laicity with the pacifist Constitution. The purpose of this article is to reveal that a contemporary transformation of the Japanese laicity correlates with that of Japanese pacifism in the post-war period. This article divides in two stages Japanese post-war history. In the first period, from the 1950s to the 1980s, Japan was in a pacific-separationist regime: overseas military missions and exercise of the right of collective self-defense by Japan Self-Defense Forces were prohibited and religion, especially Shintoism, was limited to the private sphere. In the second period, since the 1990s, Japan has entered a new “neopacific-partnalial” regime. On the one hand, the pacifism has transformed: peace is no longer the renunciation of the war, but rather a military engagement for keeping the peace. On the other hand, Japanese laicity has transformed in a way similar to that in France: the lay politicians no longer hesitate to cooperate with religion, especially with Shintoism. This dual transmutation of laicity and pacifism could be explained by a progressive collective forgetting of the memory of the war. |

| Summary, etc. | Este artículo examina la transición contemporánea de la laicidad japonesa, establecida después de la derrota de la Segunda Guerra Mundial con la Constitución pacifista. Con ello muestra que se está experimentando una transformación correlativa con el cambio radical del pacifismo que identifica al Japón de la posguerra. De este proceso se suceden dos etapas. En un primer periodo, que se extiende desde los años 1950 a 1980, Japón se encuentra en un régime “pacífico-separatista”: se prohíben las misiones militares al exterior y el ejercicio de la defensa colectiva de las llamadas Autodefensas, la religión, especialmente el sintoísmo, se limita al ámbito privado. Un segundo período, a partir de la década de 1990, estableció un nuevo régimen de asociación neopácifica. Por un lado, el pacifismo se transforma: de ahora en adelante, la paz se mantendrá mediante un compromiso militar más sostenido y no únicamente con la renuncia a la guerra. Por otro lado, la laicidad japonesa sufrirá una mutación similar a la de Francia: a partir de ahora el político no duda en cooperar con los religiosos, pragmáticamente con el Kōmeitō y simbólicamente con el sintoísmo. Esta doble mutación del secularismo y el pacifismo se explica por la eroción colectiva de la memoria de la guerra. |
