520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | Is a Russian form of developmentalism emerging ? The limits of a return to the producer State As the years 2000 advance, a return of the State is observed to be occurring in Russia. This is progressing by a process of extension of public property and the setting-up of new industrial-policy instruments. This change in situation suggests the emergence of a Russian form of developmentalism, inviting parallels with the paths taken by Asian types of capitalism. However, the first available elements for assessment are inconclusive. In spite of a high rate of economic growth, Russia has not succeeded in carrying through real diversification of its economy, at the same time when severe social and environmental contradictions persist. |
