| Summary, etc. | Des expériences précédentes ont montré que les performances scolaires dépendent fortement de la mémoire à long terme des connaissances scolaires (histoire, biologie, maths...), appelée mémoire encyclopédique. À partir de ces études, un test appelé Lexis a été construit afin de servir d’épreuve d’évaluation pour 31 142 élèves du collège français (DEPP, Ministère de l’Éducation nationale). Les résultats montrent des corrélations importantes avec un test de raisonnement (.47) et surtout avec les tests scolaires, compréhension (.67) et mathématiques (.66). Le test est très lié à plusieurs caractéristiques des élèves, comme le retard scolaire, l’environnement linguistique et le statut socio-économique du père. |

| Summary, etc. | As it appeared from previous experiments, school performance depends strongly on the long-term memory of school knowledge (history, biology, math...), referred to as encyclopedic memory. The test called Lexis, a by-product of these studies, was built as a test for 31,142 grade 6 middle school students (department of the French Education Ministry). The results reveal important correlations with a reasoning test (.47), but especially with school tests, comprehension (.67) and mathematics (.66). It is much related to several students’ characteristics, as the school delay, the language environment and the socioeconomic status of the father. |
