| Summary, etc. | Au Congo-Brazzaville, les populations du Sud du pays, et plus particulièrement celles des pays du Niari, ont été très affectées par les guerres successives des années 1990 et le désengagement de l’État dans ces zones. Le système éducatif n’a pas été épargné. Alors que l’État cherche depuis peu à établir une nouvelle « union nationale » dans les régions du Sud-ouest du Congo, ses intentions ne sont pas dénuées de stratégies politiques, même si cela permet un certain regain d’attention pour cette région. Mais les manques à combler restent grands : à l’hyper visibilité de quelques réalisations de prestige s’oppose le délabrement du système éducatif en zones rurales et dans les petites villes. Cet article fait ressortir les logiques territorialisées de l’État et des organisations internationales, qui, sans le vouloir pour ces dernières, marginalisent les anciens foyers d’opposition et contribuent à renforcer les disparités régionales et sociales, comme les mobilités scolaires des élèves et des enseignants. |

| Summary, etc. | Education in crisis in Southern Congo-Brazzaville : what re-engagement of the State ? »In the southern part of Congo-Brazzaville, and particularly in the Niari area, the local populations were very affected by the successive wars of the 1990s and by the disengagement of the State. The education system was not spared. If the State has recently started to seek to establish a new form of “national unity” in the southwest of Congo, its intentions are not devoid of political motivations, even if such policy has had the advantage to bring the region to the fore. But there are still many gaps to fill : despite a few hyper visible and prestigious achievements, the education system is agonizing in rural areas and in small towns. This article stresses the territorialized logics of the State and international organizations which, unwillingly for the latter, marginalize the former pockets of opposition and contribute to reinforce regional and social disparities, notably with regard to the educational trajectories of both pupils and teachers. |
