Summary, etc. L’Ophiocordyceps sinensis, ou cordyceps, appartient aux pharmacopées traditionnelles chinoise et tibétaine. Ce champignon médicinal originaire des hauts plateaux himalayens est considéré comme un tonique et un aphrodisiaque. En se répandant sur l’ensemble du globe, ses modes de production et ses indications se sont multipliées (cancer, sida, hypertension artérielle, diabète, etc.). Il est devenu une véritable panacée de la pharmacopée des médecines alternatives et complémentaires à la source d’une économie qui remodèle la société tibétaine. À travers une approche anthropologique multisituée, une ébauche de sa biographie est proposée. Elle intègre dimensions matérielles et symboliques et se penche tout particulièrement sur le processus de validation qui combine allégations « traditionnelles » et « modernes », références à la nature et validation par la science.
