| Summary, etc. | Les fosses cérémonielles huichol sont des lieux où se confrontent diverses intentions et dynamiques rituelles. Il existe un désir de voir les statues des ancêtres et les êtres sacrificiels qui résident à l’intérieur de la fosse. Mais seuls les spécialistes rituels se consacrant à la recherche de vision peuvent y parvenir, en s’identifiant avec les ancêtres qui regardent vers l’extérieur de la fosse. Pour les non-initiés, une interaction indirecte avec les ancêtres est conseillée. Lorsque le regard des dieux et des hommes ne se croise pas, une relation médiatisée, basée sur l’échange réciproque, est considérée moins dangereuse. |

| Summary, etc. | Huichol ceremonial pits are places were intentions and ritual dynamics clash. There is a desire to look at the statues of ancestral and sacrificial beings located inside the pit. Only practisers of vision quest can do so, but they identify with the ancestors looking out. For non-initiated humans, only indirect interaction with those beings is recommended. When you can’t see them, and they can’t see you, a mediated relationship based on reciprocal exchange is considered safe. |
