Ces questions inquiéteront ses certitudes d’étape, mais ne lui feront jamais oublier son exigence pour la validité et l’authenticité de l’enquête.Appelant à la rescousse des personnes plus expérimentées que lui, il ne trouvera pas auprès d’elles une solution générale, seulement une aide pour façonner sa propre réponse, sincère et adaptée à la problématique. Dans cette construction, les partis pris de Johannes ne seront pas totalement assurés ; ils seront personnels et tentatifs. Ils illustreront une conception possible de la recherche, où la méthodologie ne se résume pas au suivi d’une méthode, mais bien au débat sur la méthode. La recherche ne visera ainsi pas seulement la réponse à une question, mais surtout un questionnement sur la question. |

| Summary, etc. | Johannes or the Quest for UnderstandingWe will follow the thoughts and feelings of a young researcher confronted to difficult epistemological and methodological questions in order to build an ad hoc research design. These questions will threaten his halfway certitudes but never lead him to forget his demand for validity and sincerity within the inquiry.Asking for his elders’ support, he will never receive from them any general solution but some precious help to shaping his own answer, a sincere and fitted-to-the-research-problem one. Certainly he will never totally consolidate this position which will remain tentative. But this personnal attempt will illustrate a possible way to consider and make research, a way where methodology does not mean respecting a research method but debating about the method. Research should then be considered not only as a way to answer to the question but also as a way to question the question. |
