520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc.
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. Very few copies have been preserved of the decree by which Abbot Odilo of Cluny established the feast of All Souls around 1030. This article examines an unedited witness of this decree found in a manuscript of the abbey of Ripoll in Catalonia from the second quarter of the eleventh century. This manuscript was apparently written in the scriptorium of the abbey at the time of Abbot Oliba (1008-1046), who was also bishop of Vic (1017/18-1046). The presence of the decree of Odilo in this manuscript constitutes the most tangible indication of a link between Cluny and Ripoll, and more in particular between Abbot Odilo and Abbot-Bishop Oliba.
