| Summary, etc. | RésuméAlors qu’il est plus courant de s’interroger sur les raisons des silences en ce qui concerne les femmes en migrations, je m’intéresse dans ce texte aux origines et à la nature de la nouvelle visibilité de celles qui furent longtemps invisibles. Seraient-elles plus nombreuses, leur profil aurait-il changé — comme semble le suggérer l’adhésion généralisée à l’idée de la ‘féminisation des flux’ ? Ou, grâce à un long processus de ‘visibilisation’, sommes-nous devenu·e·s plus aptes à voir ce qui fut à l’ombre ? L’article propose d’abord une interrogation de cette ‘féminisation’. Puis il analyse les processus de ‘mise en visibilité’ des femmes migrantes dans la recherche et dans les politiques publiques. Il montre comment les recherches sur les migrations et celles sur le genre se font écho. Deux figures focalisent l’attention : la victime et la travailleuse domestique. Mais d’autres restent dans l’ombre, comme celle des migrantes ayant leur propre stratégie, éco-nomique ou matrimoniale. |

| Summary, etc. | Continuing (in)visibilityAlthough it is more usual to consider the reasons for the silences concerning women in migration, i am interested here in the origins and nature of the new visibility of those who were for a long time invisible. Are women on the move more numerous today and/or has their profile changed - as suggested by the conventional wisdom about ‘feminization of migration flows’? Or are we now more capable of perceiving what used to be hidden thanks to a long process of rendering these women visible? This article begins by questioning this “feminization”. Then it analyzes the processes whereby migrant women have “become visible” in research and public policies. It shows how research on migration and gender echo each other. Two figures attract particular attention — the victim and the domestic worker — while others remain obscure, such as migrants with their own economic or matrimonial strategies. |

| Summary, etc. | ResumenAunque sea más común interrogarse sobre las razones del silencio con respecto a las mujeres en situación migratoria, yo me intereso en este texto a los orígenes y a la naturaleza de la nueva visibilidad de aquellas que fueron por mucho tiempo invisibles. Serían más numerosas, sus perfiles habrían cambiado — como parece sugerir la adhesión generalizada a la idea de la ‘feminización de los fluros’? O, gracias a un largo proceso de ‘visibilización’, nos hemos vuelto más capaces de ver lo que estaba en la sombra? El artículo propone, en primer lugar, una interrogación de esta ‘feminización’. Después analiza los procesos de ‘puesta en visibilidad’ de las mujeres migrantes en la investigación y en las políticas públicas. Muestra como las investigaciones sobre las migraciones y aquellas sobre el género están relacionadas. Dos figuras focalizan la atención: la víctima y la trabajadora doméstica. Pero otras se quedan en la sombra, como aquellas de las migrantes teniendo su propia estrategia, económica o matrimonial. |
