| Summary, etc. | Malgré l’hostilité de la compagnie aérienne irlandaise low cost Ryanair envers toute forme de représentation des travailleurs et de négociation collective, elle n’a pas échappé à la conflictualité sociale. En 2018, l’organisation collective des salariés a abouti à des grèves offensives de dimension européenne. Par la suite, les problèmes rencontrés par le Boeing 737 Max et la pandémie de Covid-19 freinent ce mouvement et contribuent à le relocaliser sur des enjeux nationaux. Ce conflit n’en reste pas moins riche d’enseignements quant aux conditions de possibilité de l’européanisation de la grève et aux modalités d’un syndicalisme européen de terrain, mais aussi aux difficultés de sa structuration sur le temps long. |

| Summary, etc. | Despite Irish low-cost airline Ryanair’s hostility towards all forms of worker representation and collective bargaining, it has not entirely avoided labour disputes. In 2018, the collective organisation of workers led to offensive Europe-wide strikes. Subsequently, the issues encountered by the Boeing 737 Max and the Covid-19 pandemic have slowed this movement and contributed to bringing its focus back to domestic issues. This conflict is nevertheless hugely instructive as to the predicates of the strike action’s Europeanisation and the modalities of grassroots European trade unionism, as well as its longer-term structural challenges. |
