| Summary, etc. | RésuméIl s’agit de proposer un moyen d’analyse du mécanisme d’empathie au sein d’un sport, le football, et d’un jeu paradoxal, la « balle assise ». Ce dernier a la particularité de ne valoriser a priori ni l’altruisme ni l’antagonisme. Trois groupes d’étudiants et trois équipes de football sont sollicités, auxquels nous faisons remplir un questionnaire sociométrique. Celui-ci nous permet de calculer un indice d’empathie socio-affective. Nous déterminons ensuite un indice d’empathie instrumentale, en nous basant sur la capacité des acteurs à esquiver les ballons (« balle assise »), à les récupérer ou à les intercepter (football). Le résultat de cette expérience montre qu’en balle assise, il semble exister un lien fort entre l’empathie socio-affective et l’empathie instrumentale (pour les 3 groupes, le degré de significativité évolue entre p<0,05 et p<0,001). A contrario, en football, aucun lien n’a pu être relevé entre ces deux indices. L’empathie y est d’ordre instrumental. Le football et la « balle assise » ne semble pas faire appel aux mêmes mécanismes empathiques. |

| Summary, etc. | The goal of the present study was to develop a means of validating the existence of empathy in a sport (soccer) and in a paradoxical sporting game (dodge ball) which, in principal, rewards neither altruism nor antagonism. Three groups of students and three soccer teams were asked to fill out a sociometric questionnaire which enabled us to calculate a socio-affective empathy index. We subsequently determined a sociomotor empathy index (based on a player’s ability to avoid the ball in dodge ball or to win or intercept the ball in soccer). Our results showed that for dodge ball, there appears to be a link between socio-affective empathy and sociomotor empathy (for the three groups: p<0.05, p<0.05 and p<0.001). In contrast, for soccer, we did not observe any correlation between the two indices. Empathy is instrumental. In terms of socialisation, soccer and dodge ball do not sollicite the same empathetic mechanisms. |

Tres grupos de estudiantes y tres equipos de futbol son solicitados, a los cuales hicimos diligenciar un cuestionario sociométrico. Este nos permite calcular un índice de empatía socio-afectiva. Seguidamente determinamos un índice de empatía instrumental basándonos en la capacidad de los actores a esquivar los balones (balón sentado), a recuperarlos o a interceptarlos (futbol). El resultado de esta experiencia muestra que en el balón sentado parece existir una relación fuerte entre empatía socio-afectiva y empatía instrumental (p<0,05 et p<0,001). A contrario, en el futbol, ninguna relación fue observada entre estos dos índices. La empatía es de orden instrumental. El futbol y el balón sentado no parecen apelar a los mismos mecanismos empáticos. |

| Summary, etc. | ZusammenfassungEs handelt sich bei diesem Beitrag um einen Vorschlag zur Analyse des Mechanismus der Empathie im Bereich Sport, Fußball, und bei einem paradoxen Spiel, „Balle Assise“. Letzteres zeigt die Besonderheit, weder a priori Altruismus noch Antagonismus zu bewerten. Drei Schülergruppen und drei Fußballmannschaften nahmen an der Studie teil; diese wurden gebeten, einen soziometrischen Fragebogen auszufüllen. Dieser erlaubte es, einen Index der sozio-affektiven Empathie zu berechnen. Sodan bestimmen wir einen Index der instrumentellen Empathie, indem wir basierend auf der Kapazität der Spieler, den Bällen auszuweichen (Balle Assise), bzw. sie zu übernehmen oder abzufangen (Fußball). Die Ergebnisse dieser Vorgehensweise zeigt, dass nur beim „Balle Assise“ eine starke Bindung zwischen sozio-affektiver Empathie und instrumenteller Empathie zu existieren scheint (p<.05 und p<.001). Beim Fußball hingegen fand sich kein Zusammenhang zwischen den beiden Indizes. Die Empathie ist hier ein instrumentelles Mittel. Fußball und „Balle Assise“ scheinen nicht an die gleichen Empathie-Mechanismen anzusprechen. |

| Summary, etc. | RiassuntoSi tratta di proporre un metodo di analisi del meccanismo di empatia che agisce in seno ad uno sport, il football, e in un gioco paradossale, la Palla seduta. Quest’ultimo gioco ha la particolarità di non valorizzare a priori né l’altruismo né l’antagonismo. Tre gruppi di studenti e tre squadre di football sono state sollecitate a partecipare; ad esse abbiamo fatto riempire un questionario sociometrico. Ciò ci ha permesso di calcolare un indice di empatia socio-affettiva. In seguito è stato possibile determinare un indice di empatia strumentale, basato sulla capacità degli agenti di schivare i lanci (Palla seduta), di recuperarli o di intercettarli (Football). Il risultato di questo esperimento mostra che, nel gioco della Palla seduta, sembra esistere un forte legame tra l’empatia socio-affettiva e l’empatia strumentale (p<0,05 et p<0,001). Al contrario, non si è potuto rilevare alcun legame tra questi due indici nel football. Qui l’empatia gioca un ruolo di ordine strumentale. Il football e la Palla seduta non sembrano fare ricorso agli stessi meccanismi empatici. |

Três grupos de estudantes e três equipas de futebol são solicitados, aos quais fazemos preencher um questionário sociométrico. Este permite-nos calcular um índice de empatia sócioafectiva. Determinamos seguidamente um índice de empatia instrumental, baseandonos na capacidade dos actores de evitar as bolas (Bola sentada), a recuperá-las ou a interceptá-las (Futebol). O resultado desta experiência mostra que na Bola sentada, parece existir uma relação forte entre a empatia sócioafectiva e o empatia instrumental (p<0,05 e p<0,001). Pelo contrário, no futebol, nenhuma relação pôde ser assinalada entre estes dois índices. A empatia é de ordem instrumental. O futebol e a Bola sentada não parecem recorrer aos mesmos mecanismos empáticos. |
