Depuis ses premiers terrains ivoiriens jusqu’à son ethnographie de la surmodernité, il met en lumière les concepts et les innovations théoriques majeurs qui les ont jalonnés et qui ont marqué fortement l’histoire de l’anthropologie, en France comme à l’étranger. Mais il se demande également pourquoi plusieurs des grands livres de Marc Augé sont en France quelque peu oubliés alors qu’ils sont restés d’une grande actualité dans d’autres pays. |
